Terri’s Baby Shower
I recently went to Perricone’s Market Place & Cafe to photograph Terri’s baby shower. Terri and Neman are expecting a baby girl, and their family and friends are filled with excitement about the arrival of baby Alexis. The theme for the shower was a “Tea Party,” and the entire place was decorated with white teapots and cups delightfully filled with delicate pink and pastel color flowers. This group consisted of 90 ladies who enjoyed a wonderful lunch, fun games and delicious cupcakes, but the most enjoyable thing for me was to see Terri’s happiness as she dreams of her baby girl. Please enjoy the slideshow I’ve put together with some of the photos from the shower.

Nicholas Paul is Two Months Old
Time for Nicholas’ two month old portraits. This time, we decided to give Nicholas a nice bubble bath, which is his favorite part of the day. He had a good time and so did we, and after it was all said and done, it wasn’t even as messy as we thought it would be. Nicholas just gets cuter by the minute! Please enjoy some of the photos I’ve put together in a slideshow.

“Boys Will Be Boys”
Well, it was time once again for Christian and Noah’s summer portraits, and just a few days before our shoot Noah fell while skateboarding and broke his arm. Needless to say we were all scared, worried, and sad, and I thought for sure our photo session was OFF! Thankfully, Noah was okay and not only was our photo session on, but I got the great idea of using Noah’s wiggle board and helmet as the theme for our photo shoot. I then chose what I think was a very appropriate location as our backdrop and I am very pleased with the outcome. Boys will be boys, and these two boys in particular are very special and just soooo handsome and cool!!! Please enjoy the slideshow I’ve created with some of the photos.

Beruvides Family Summer Portraits & Natty & Panchy with the grandchildren
Ana and Mario are my oldest son’s Godparents, and after many years of sharing our lives with them, my son was surprised when he discovered that we are not “blood related.” Well, sometimes the bond of a good friendship is as strong as that of family, and this is one such case. Ana, Mario, Danny, Erik and Victor and their family are part of my family, so it was my privilege to capture their portraits this summer during their visit to Miami. They are a beautiful, fun, and inspiring bunch and some of my most favorite people in the world. We also took the opportunity to capture some photos of the “abuelos,” Natty and Panchy with all their grandchildren on the same day. Enjoy the slideshow I’ve prepared with just a few of the many photos I took.

Nicholas’ Baptism
I have had the pleasure of capturing many of Lisa and Misael’s family events and landmarks through my photographs in the past, and I recently had the opportunity of meeting their second son, Nicholas at his Christening. Nicholas is a beautiful, happy, perfect little angel, and the entire family is in love with him, especially big brother Sam, who can’t wait for Nicholas to start running around with him. The ceremony took place at Mother of Christ Catholic Church and the reception followed at Nicholas’ Godfather’s home. We enjoyed a delicious paella made by “Mr. Paella,” lots of cold drinks and a tasty cake. May God always bless Nicholas and his family. I can’t wait for the next occasion to photograph this beautiful family.

Merici Academy Summer Reunion
I recently had the pleasure of attending the Merici Academy Summer Reunion at the Hotel Sofitel. The Merici Academy was a Catholic school for girls founded in La Habana, Cuba in 1941. This year’s event got started with a mass officiated by Father Ernesto Fernandez-Travieso, followed by a fun cocktail hour where old friends gathered and shared stories, photographs and lots of good memories. We then continued on to the luncheon and the ladies had a great time celebrating anniversaries and hugging friends, some of which they had not seen in many years. They enjoyed a nice lunch, lots of door prizes and a raffle. This year artist George Rodez donated a painting from his Afro-Caribbean series. You can check out his amazing work at http://www.rodezart.com. I had a wonderful afternoon among lovely ladies. Please enjoy the slideshow I have put together with some of the photos from the event.
If you wish to view the entire album and/or order prints, please visit the LolyPix Galleries under the recent events category and scroll down the Merici Academy album.

Nicholas Paul’s Newborn Portraits
Nicole and Tania are very happy with the arrival of their son Nicholas Paul. They have chosen to capture the first year of Nicholas’ life with monthly portraits, and we recently completed our first session where we concentrated on portraits for their birth announcements. Nicholas is just adorable!!! he is very alert for his age and he behaved very well during the photo session. We can’t wait to try something new every month to capture the different stages as Nicholas grows up. Congratulations Nicole and Tania on the new beautiful addition to your family.

Vanessa’s Baby Shower
This was a beautiful and fun baby shower at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel in Brickell Key. Vanessa’s family knows how to throw a great party, and this was no exception. As you can see from the photos, Baby Anthony will have the “Cuban flavor” in his blood from the get go. The decorations were amazing, the cake was not only a work of art, but simply delicious and the guests enjoyed a beautiful afternoon with a great view of Biscayne Bay, a nice lunch, and fun games. Congratulations to Vanessa and all those who love her on the arrival of the new addition to an already beautiful family.

Back from Vacation
I just returned from my annual get away and most wonderful family vacation ever!!! All I have to say is that once again it was like being in paradise surrounded by people that just make me so happy I can hardly stand it. A friend recently told me that Sanibel is “exotic” and it left me thinking. I don’t know about exotic, but to us it is truly “magical.” I can’t wait to go back. Here are a few photos of the family. Happy times.

5 commentsEly’s Sex and the City Party
Ely and her six best friends take time from their busy lives and families each month to get together for some “girl time.” They continue to enjoy their friendship, and welcome the well deserved time away from work, husbands, and children once in a while. They try to do different things with their time together each month, and this month it was Ely’s turn to entertain her friends. Ely surprised the girls with a photo shoot at their “Sex and the City party.” They played dress up, drank martinis and just talked and laughed. They all enjoyed delicious baked ziti that Ely prepared for them and then headed out to see the Sex and the City newly released movie. Ely’s night was a big hit and they will all remember how much fun it was as they see all the photos from the day.

Please enjoy the slideshow I’ve prepared with some of their photos.
