Nicolas’ First Birthday

I recently went to the Arrieta’s home to photograph their son Nico’s first birthday party.  Their entire backyard became a beautiful playground for this occasion and Disney character themed decorations covered every corner of the place with vivid colors that just made you happy.  The decorations and enterntaiment were provided by “Fiestas Depot” and the babies and their parents had a wonderful afternoon playing games and dancing with Mickey, Minnie and Donald Duck.  You couldn’t help it but to dance and smile and I just couldn’t help it but to take tons of photos which I hope Nico, and his family and friends will enjoy.  Here’s a slideshow I put together with some of the pictures.  Happy Birthday Nico!!!!

Bianca’s First Birthday

It seems like it was yesterday when I took photos at Bianca’s Baptism, but she is already one year old.  Bianca’s birthday party was so much fun!  The theme was colorful balloon flowers and ladybugs.  There were clowns, slides and bounce houses, and lots of cool toys for all the babies to enjoy as well as a puppet show and face painting by Clowns Hunny & Hootsi, www.hunnytheclown.com.  Bianca and her little friends had a wonderful time and played to their hearts’ content.   Here’s a slideshow I have created with some of the photos from the party.  Enjoy!!!

Happy First Birthday Bianca!!!

Eileen & Pedro’s Wedding Day

Eileen and Pedro’s wedding was very special to me.  I have known them and their family for a while now and I have taken part as their photographer on many of the events leading up to their big day.  Needless to say, on the day of the wedding I was eager to go and begin the celebration with them.  We got started at the Mayfair Hotel in Coconut Grove where Eileen, her mother, grandmother and bridesmaids got ready.  The ladies  had a good time pampering themselves and enjoying their time together with Eileen as they helped her prepare for the wedding.  They did a good job and Eileen looked amazing!!!  I then went to the Coral Gables Congregational Church where I met Pedro and his groomsmen for some photos before the ceremony.  The ceremony was conducted by Reverend Milan, and it was beautiful, personal and very touching.  Eileen and Pedro made sure to include everyone in their family as part of their ceremony.  We then went to the Ronald W. Shane Center in Miami Beach for the reception.  The place was decorated with a winter wonderland theme, they had two beautiful Christmas trees and snowflakes everywhere with an elegant white, blue and silver color scheme.  On this very special day Eileen and Pedro were surrounded by their family and friends whose love for this couple was contagious.  Congratulations!!!  I leave you with the slideshows I’ve created with some of the many photos captured throughout the wedding day.  Enjoy!!!!

“Special Thanks to my son Chris for second shooting at the church, you can check his work out at www.mangosandpeaches.com and to my husband for graciously driving me around from venue to venue making my job a lot easier.”

The Plasencia’s Family Portraits

Vanessa and Rudy decided to give their mother family portraits for her birthday, so on the day of Esther’s birthday we got together to take the photos.  How wonderful is that? and how lucky am I to get to spend some time with this beautiful family on this very special day.  It was a typically perfect Miami day at the park and at the beach.  They had a great morning enjoying each other’s company and after the shoot, they decided to take Esther to a restaurant in South Beach to continue the celebration.  I know Esther felt special, beautiful and very loved by her husband and children.  I just drove away with a big smile on my face.  To me, this is what life is all about.  Happy birthday Estercita and may you have many, many more birthdays surrounded by your beautiful family just like today.

Rowan’s Newborn Portraits

I recently had the opportunity to shoot baby Rowan’s newborn portraits.  Jake and Amy are the proud parents of this beautiful baby boy who has come to complete their happiness.  I visited their home and we managed to bother baby Rowan who just wanted to sleep and be left alone.  He behaved wonderfully, and other than  a little “wet” accident, which dad handled beautifully, he simply posed like a little angel as I clicked away capturing many photos which I hope the family will cherish for years to come.  Congratulations Amy and Jake, you have the most wonderful Christmas present anyone could ever wish for.  I leave you with a slide show I have created with some of my favorite photos.  Enjoy!!!

Merry Christmas to all!!!!

The photos for our Christmas cards this year were taken by my very talented son, Chris.  You can check out his work at www.mangosandpeaches.com  We went to New York with the family over the Thanksgiving weekend and had an unforgettable time.  The highlight of the trip for me was walking the Brooklyn Bridge.  This bridge is not only a historical monument, but an example of architectural genius and incredible work of art.  Needless to say between Chris and myself we took a ton of photos.  We chose these two as favorites for our Christmas cards.  I want to wish all my family and friends who follow my blog a very Merry Christmas and a blessed New Year.  We will be spending our Christmas at home with all our family around us (all 40 of them, LOL).  I can’t think of anything better than that.  “Feliz Navidad.”

Patricia’s Bridal Shower

I recently had the pleasure of photographing Patricia’s Bridal Shower.  The party was held at the family’s Coral Gables home.  The decorations and details were all beautifully arranged by the gracious hostesses, Eloisa and Laura.  Patricia was showered with love, presents, laughter and also with a little bit of rain, which served to make the party a true “shower” and made for nice photo opportunities as the guests were greeted under big blue umbrellas.  They all had a wonderful afternoon sipping mimosas, wine, and enjoying delicious crepes made to order by “The Crepe Maker” www.crepemaker.com

Elsie & Enrique’s Family Portraits

I recently had the pleasure of taking Elsie and Enrique’s family portraits at South Pointe in South Beach.  This was such a fun group to work with!  We started the shoot in a very traditional way, but soon thereafter got hit by some pretty big waves on this windy day and ended up soaked and full of sand, but we got the shots we wanted.  The group included several generations of Elsie’s family and the portraits will preserve good memories for all of them.  I leave you with a slide show I created with some favorites.  to view their entire album, please click on the “LolyPix galleries” section located immediately to the right of the screen.  Enjoy!!!

Isabella & Gabriella’s Christening

These beautiful twin little girls were baptized last Sunday at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church.  the ceremony was followed by a fun party at their Godparents’ home.  Family and friends gathered on this beautiful afternoon to celebrate this important occasion in this family’s life.  The party decorations were pink and lavender with pastel colored rose centerpieces decorating the tables.  Everything looked beautiful, delicate and sweet, just like Isabella and Gabriella.  The food was catered by Suzanne & Michael Catering, and it was amazing.  Check them out at  http://www.suzannemichaelcatering.com/.  Many blessings to the twins’ parents Dr. & Mrs. Manuel Costa and their family.  I leave you with some of the photos I took on this special day.  Enjoy!!!  To view their entire albums please click on the LolyPix Galleries section immediately to your right.
