I was fortunate to once again be able to spend a week at beautiful Sanibel Island, Florida, with a group of some of my favorite people during our traditional family vacation. It has become our family’s tradition to gather and just let our hair down, be ourselves, forget about cell phones, blackberries, e-mails, and alarm clocks, and just enjoy nature, the beach, good food, lots of cocktails, cold Coronas, fun games, but most importantly, enjoy each other. Our group grows every year as more family members and friends join us. It is a perfect get away for young and old, and a great way to keep our family together. Needless to say between my son, Chris and myself, we took hundreds of pictures. I’m posting some of my favorites here.
It was another beautiful afternoon in paradise at Sanibel Beach last Monday where I was vacationing with my family, when all of a sudden and to everyone’s surprise a water spout came out of nowhere and quickly moved across the horizon. I ran inside and grabbed my camera and here are the few images I managed to capture right before the beach patrol asked everyone to leave the beach area. It was quite a spectacle. Beautiful, scary, and exciting all at the same time. Right after the storm passed, a colorful rainbow decorated the peaceful sky. God never ceases to amaze me.
So, on Saturday, after hearing a lot of good things about our son Nick’s band, my husband and I decided to pay them a visit at Bougainvillea’s Tavern in South Miami. The joint was jumpin’!!! The Miller Road Band consisting of Carlos, rhythm guitar and singer, Scott on lead guitar, Marc on drums, and Nick on bass guitar played rock standards like “Hotel California”, “All Along the Watchtower,” and many other crowd pleasers to the delight and cheers of a packed house. Here are a few pictures I took.
I went to Jen’s home in South Miami on Saturday to photograph Jen’s Bridal Shower. The family’s beautiful home was the perfect backdrop for the party where Jen and a group of ladies celebrated with a very nice lunch, refreshing Margaritas, fun games, beautiful presents, and lots of good wishes for Jen and Gaby’s happiness. Congratulations!!!!
